New Deputy Chair and Secretary appointed
We are pleased to announce the appointment of both a Deputy Chair and Secretary to the Commission, in preparation for the commencement of the next general Review of constituencies in England.
Mr Justice Peter Lane has been appointed as Deputy Chair by the Lord Chancellor, for a three year term from 23 June 2020. Biographical information is available in the Lord Chancellor’s announcement of the appointment, and on our page about our Commissioners.
Tim Bowden has been appointed as Secretary by the Cabinet Office (BCE’s sponsor department), following an open public recruitment process earlier this summer, which included one of our Commissioners on the selection panel. He will take up post in September. Tim has extensive experience working on boundary reviews in England, having been BCE’s Head of Reviews during the 2018 Review, and prior to that leading a large number of local government boundary reviews for the Local Government Boundary Commission for England.
