Boundary Commission submits final recommendations for new Parliamentary constituencies to the Speaker
The Boundary Commission for England has today submitted its report containing final recommendations for new constituency boundaries to the Speaker of the House of Commons. In doing so, the Commission has fulfilled its statutory responsibility, and submission of the report ends the Commission’s involvement in the 2023 Boundary Review.
The Speaker will lead the process of laying the final recommendations before Parliament. The Boundary Commission cannot publish the report, or announce its recommendations, until the report has been laid before Parliament.
Secretary to the Commission, Tim Bowden, said, ‘We’re pleased to present our recommendations to the Speaker of the House of Commons today. We look forward to being able to publish our recommendations once the report has been laid before Parliament.’
