Government responds to Select Committee recommendations

The UK Government has today published its formal response to the March 2015 report and recommendations of the Political and Constitutional Reform Committee (as it then was) of the House of Commons ‘What next on the redrawing of parliamentary constituency boundaries?’.

The Commission appreciates the PCRC’s work and notes the Government’s response, and encourages the Government to keep under review the legislation governing parliamentary boundary reviews. While the Commission stands by its views expressed to the committee in 2015, it is fully committed to learning practical lessons from the 2013 review and delivering a successful 2018 review of parliamentary constituencies.
